John Wall, Tianna Hawkins Surprise Breast Cancer Survivor on Good Morning America

Wall, Hawkins appear on Good Morning America originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Thursday's episode of Good Morning America featured a surprise appearance from Wizards guard John Wall and Mystics forward Tianna Hawkins, who showed up to present Donna Hopkins, a breast cancer survivor, a donation of $10,000.

Hopkins, a sports reporter, was diagnosed with breast cancer 22 years ago. She created Hopkins Breast Cancer, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides financial help to people battling breast cancer in the Washington, D.C. area.

The money given by Wall and Hawkins will go towards an important cause and make a difference in the Washington region where they play.

Hawkins showed up in person to greet Hopkins, while Wall appeared remotely on video. He had a basketball in his hands and then passed it after making reference to the fact he has dished out a lot of assists in his NBA career.

Wall mentioning assists is also a reference to his charity effort called '202 Assist,' which has helped D.C. residents affected financially by Covid-19 this year.

Monumental Basketball has teamed up to make a difference once again.
