Jason `Smith says Wall-Beal brotherhood was never broken originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Throughout the eight seasons that Bradley Beal and John Wall shared the Wizards backcourt, the two guards occasionally bumped heads.
But according to former Wizards center, Jason Smith, who played three seasons with the now-defunct duo, that was just the nature of a strong brotherhood between two of the league's greatest competitors.
"They played cards on the plane, they'd go out to dinner, they hang out at family events together. I mean what else do you want them to do?" Smith said on Wizards Pregame Live before Tuesday's matchup between the Wizards and the Rockets.
He said that despite the media's portrayal of the former teammates as adversaries, the two had one of the better bonds that he'd seen over his 11-year NBA career.
"It wasn't that at all," Smith said. "They were competitive by nature. John knew the potential that Brad had and Brad was always a competitor against John."

The Rockets came out on top 107-88, as Wall tallied 24 points and 5 assists against his old squad. Bradley Beal's 33 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds weren't enough to prevent the Wizards from suffering their 10th defeat of the season.
If one thing is for certain, Beal and Wall are two of the toughest competitors in the league. With Beal just 27-years-old and Wall now 30, this will be a must-see matchup for years to come.
