In the Loop: Ryan Fitzpatrick's Beard Catches a Cicada

No one is safe from cicada run-ins

In The Loop: Fitzpatrick's beard catches a cicada, Isles beat Bruins originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

First up in our look around the sports world, Washington Football Team OTA’s are underway and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has quickly become a social media favorite.

The team recently posted a video of him with a cicada on his beard, acting as casual as ever.

Next up, Alex Ovechkin’s young son has developed a love for hockey at a young age. No surprise there.

Oveckin’s wife, Nastya, recently posted a photo of the Great 8 and his son, Sergei, on the ice together.

It’s the G.O.A.T and the C.O.A.T (Cutest of all time) together for some father-son time.

Finally, the Islanders beat the Bruins on Wednesday night, 6-2, to advance to the Stanley Cup semifinals.

The New Orleans Saints took to social media to congratulate the Islanders on the series win in response to Boston coach Bruce Cassidy’s comments criticizing the officiating after Game 5 and referring to the Islanders as the "New York Saints."

The rowdy crowd at fabled Nassau Coliseum picked up the quote and used it against Cassidy and the Bruins with a sarcastic chant in the deciding game. The Saints / Islanders advanced by winning Game 6 on Wednesday night and are now set to take on the defending champion Tampa Bay Lighting in the third round.
