BUCKNELL VS. LAFAYETTE WHAT TO WATCH

  • The series score between these two squads is almost a dead split. Having played 153 times, Lafayette has won 78 times to Bucknell’s 75. The last meeting between the Patriot League rivals was on Jan. 10, when an 87-76 victory for the Leopards proved to be their third of five consecutive wins. Coming off the bench, the undisputed player of the game was Lafayette’s E.J. Stephens. The senior guard dropped 31 points in as many minutes, going a perfect 10-10 from the free-throw line.
  • Bucknell will be looking for their first win of the season against this Lafayette team, having dropped two games to the Leopards in mid-January. The Bison haven’t beaten the Leopards in over a year—a 78-66 win on Jan. 5 of last year was the last of a nine-game winning streak in the series. Since then, Lafayette’s won three straight.
  • After the game on Saturday in Easton, the teams will meet again the next day in Lewisburg, PA for a Bucknell home game—the fourth and final meeting between the two teams in the regular season.

BUCKNELL VS. LAFAYETTE PLAYERS TO WATCH

Bucknell: John Meeks (Sr.), F (24.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 38.9 3P%). Although Meeks has only played in four of the Bison’s eight games on the campaign, the team has won in all four of his appearances, all of which against Lehigh. However, despite Meeks’ stellar offensive numbers, he does lead Bucknell in turnovers at 3.0 per game. If he’s able to protect the ball, Bucknell’s chances of defeated Lafayette skyrocket.

Lafayette: Justin Jaworski (Sr.), G (21.8 ppg, 1.7 spg, 91.5 FT%). Jaworski leads the Leopards in virtually all categories among players with significant playing time: points, minutes, steals, 3P%, and turnovers. In Lafayette’s triple-overtime victory over Loyola-Maryland on Feb. 13, Jaworski dropped 33 points in 52 minutes despite going 1-6 from long range. If Bucknell can’t contain the senior, it’s hard to imagine them beating this Lafayette team.
