The AHL announced Wednesday the postponement of three Hershey Bears games due to COVID-19 protocols. Wednesday's game at Lehigh Valley was moved to Dec. 21. In addition, the Bears' games on Saturday at Lehigh Valley and Sunday at home against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton have also been postponed.

In a statement, the team said that "This decision was made in consultation with medical experts and the AHL and due to the health and safety of players, coaches, and game day personnel."

Hershey also had a game on Nov. 28 postponed which was moved to Wednesday. Now that game has been postponed twice.

These games are the latest in a flurry of postponements in the AHL as the league deals with COVID concerns within multiple teams. Hershey is among five teams that have had its games postponed in accordance with COVID protocols, the league announced. The others are the Rochester Americans, Hartford Wolfpack, Springfield Thunderbirds and Providence Bruins.

Anytime COVID-19 spreads, it is a matter of concern, but the Capitals need to keep a close eye on this situation. With so many injuries, several of the players on the NHL roster were with Hershey at various points this season and there is the possibility of a call-up spreading it to Washington's locker room.
