Four Virginia Players Ruled Out After Coronavirus Testing Before Miami Game

Four UVA players ruled out for Covid-19 before Miami game originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Positive Covid-19 test results has removed four Virginia Cavaliers from their big matchup against ranked Miami.

Coming off a third-consecutive loss last weekend to NC State, UVA was in full preparation to face the Hurricanes and get their season back on track. With Miami ranked No. 11 in the country, Virginia was looking to play spoiler to what has been a successful season for “The U.” It’s been awhile since Miami was a consistent favorite within the ACC.

What has now become commonplace on the injury report of any sports team is the Covid designation. Having four players inactive against a conference rival tends to not put a team in a position to win. However, stranger things have happened.

At the time of publication, the names of the affected players have not been released. However, one can expect that the guys set to replace them will definitely take advantage of the absence of their teammates to make a name for themselves.

For Virginia fans, hope springs eternal for a possible redirection for their season. Tonight, that path will either be taken or taken from them.

Miami is a 14-point favorite over the Cavaliers.
