Former Washington TE Vernon Davis Impresses in ‘Dancing With the Stars' Debut

Vernon Davis impresses in 'Dancing with the Stars' debut originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Following his retirement in the offseason, former Washington tight end Vernon Davis traded in his football cleats for some dancing shoes, joining the newest Dancing with the Stars cast for 2020.

Monday was the debut of the new season, meaning Davis got a chance to show off his new footwork for the first time. Working with his partner Peta Murgatroyd, the two unveiled the foxtrot as their debut dance. Based on the reactions for social media, they impressed.

Davis and Murgatroyd received a score of 17 out of 30 for their first dance, which shows there is room for improvement. However, the score is right around where most of the other contestants sit as of now.

How far Davis can go is yet to be known, but based on the athleticism and route running he showed on the football field constantly, he shouldn't have any problems mastering future routines.
