Evgeny Kuznetsov Moves Into Capitals' Top 4 All-Time With Game 3 Goal

With the Caps trailing the Islanders 1-0 in the second period of Game 3 Sunday afternoon, Evgeny Kuznetsov finally stepped up. The Caps center sniped a shot to the upper right corner of the goal, finding the back of the net and tying the game for Washington.

The goal was obviously an important one in the scope of the game, but it was also relevant for the history books.

The shot gives Kuznetsov sole possession of fourth place all-time in Caps postseason scoring history with 26. He's now four goals away from Peter Bondra in third place, and ten behind Nicklas Backstrom for second.

The goal also helped him move up in the points leaderboard.

Kuznetsov is now in the top five in total points in Caps playoff history after tying Mike Ridley with 60. He's just four points behind John Carlson, who recorded an assist on the goal.
