Bradley Beal Sings Monica Lyrics to Describe His Off Night Vs. Pelicans

Bradley Beal sings Monica lyrics to describe his off night originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Bradley Beal scored 30 points in the Wizards' overtime win over the Pelicans on Friday night, but it wasn't the typical efficient performance fans have gotten accustomed to from the NBA's leading scorer.

Beal was just 10-of-29 from the field, including 0-for-9 on 3-pointers, one of which he attempted on the final shot of regulation. As he retreated to the Wizards' sideline to regroup before the start of the extra period, his frustration was visible. But after Russell Westbrook and Daniel Gafford picked him up down the stretch to carry the Wizards to their third straight win and fifth in six games, Beal was able to take a more lighthearted approach to describing his struggles.

"You ever heard the Monica song? Just one of them days," sang Beal, referencing Monica's 1995 hit Don't Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days). "You ever heard that? That's all that was. It's just one of them days."

Luckily, Beal is usually a lot better at basketball because his singing won't land him a record deal any time soon. But the song selection was certainly apropos for a player averaging 31 points a game on 48% shooting this season. He was even captured getting up some shots after the game.

Beal will have a chance erase the bad taste of Friday's game immediately as the Wizards host the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. Catch the action on NBC Sports Washington with coverage beginning at 7 p.m.
