Aaron Rodgers interested in being permanent ‘Jeopardy!’ host originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has filmed two weeks’ worth of episodes as a guest host on “Jeopardy!” and he’s already looking to get back on the podium.
NBC Sports’ Peter King spoke with “Jeopardy!” executive producer Mike Richards about Rodgers’ two-week stint hosting the show. The episodes were filmed over three days in February, after which the reigning NFL MVP told Richards that he would be interested in sticking as a permanent host.

“It’s the ultimate compliment to Alex [Trebek] and to the franchise that Aaron is that forward with his thoughts, and so complimentary of the show,” Richards said, as quoted by King. “What I find fascinating about Aaron…is his second career could be better than his first.”
Richards believes Rodgers could host the show even as he finishes out his football career. The production crew needs just 46 days to record a year’s worth of shows, giving Rodgers ample opportunity to fit the side job in during his offseasons.
Sony would have many applicants to consider before determining a new permanent host. But there is at least interest from Rodgers’ side, which leaves open the possibility that the future Hall of Famer remains on the television sets of millions even after his NFL career comes to a close.
