LeBron In Baltimore for All-Star Pro-Am

NBA lockout?  What?  Where?

LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and the Wizards’ Trevor Booker will share a court Tuesday in yet another star-studded summer league pro-am when Miles Rawls takes his Goodman team north to Baltimore to take on an all-star team from Anthony’s Melo Center.

“With the lockout, it was a very good idea for us to do this, because a lot of NBA players are looking to play basketball,” Melo Center athletic director Kurk Lee told the Washington Post. “They can’t be on practice facilities. They are looking to play summer league ball.”

Rawls has assembled quite a team with Booker, Durant, Sacramento center DeMarcus Cousins, Milwaukee guard Brandon Jennings, Boston forward Jeff Green, Denver guard Ty Lawson and Detroit forward Austin Daye.

In addition to LeBron, Paul and Anthony, the Melo Center team will also feature San Antonio guard Gary Neal, Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe, Memphis guard Josh Selby, Sacramento forward Donte Greene and Eddy Curry.

If you’re headed to Baltimore to check out this game, bring your patience with you. While we’re sure Rawls has learned from the logistical mistakes of his last all-star game, the addition of LeBron and a 4,500-capacity arena make this a different, much larger monster.

The game is being held at Edward P. Hurt Gymnasium at Morgan State University to accommodate the large crowd expected. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis when the doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. game start. Tickets are priced at $40 for general admission and $100 for floor seats.
