Steves Holcomb and Langton broke a six-decade U.S. drought by winning bronze in the two-man bobsled. Here's hoping the women follow suit today.

In our business, they say the camera adds 10 pounds. In Sochi, I've got five cameras on me. Gaining with goulash, borscht and pizza!

Jim tells us: "Clouds, but not much fog from our view down here on Monday. Up in the mountains, heavy fog led to the postponement of two events and the cancellation of another."
38/68
Jim says: "All-you-can-eat-borsch night! We had a fancy "one week to go" dinner with Team NBC. My Sochi family has the U.S., covered from D.C. to New York, Chicago, Dallas, L.A. and more."

Go to any of the nicer restaurants in Sochi and you'll notice on the back page of the menus in full the price list for broken dishes is spelled out so you'll know what you owe in the event of an accident. It's all in rubles, but every piece is covered -- from plates and bowls to beer mugs and wine glasses.

Jim says, "No sleeve for you! Our Starbucks is cracking down on cup sleeves. They want us to use our same sleeve over and over, with drink order and name already on it. It does make sense to cut down on waste... but when I accidentally tossed mine out, that meant I couldn't get another one."

Jim says: "Putinland has a Kings Dominion feel, but this roller coaster is not working. At night, it lights up and looks cool, but then again everything looks spectacular at night in Sochi."

Jim tells us, "This is how you say 'Coke' in Russian. Don't think there is a word for Pepsi here."
45/68
Jim says, "So glad I wasn't sitting next to this Team Russia fan the whole game. Oy."
46/68
From Jim on the USA vs. Russia game: "Well, this was my Olympic moment. Second-row ticket. Watching Alex Ovechkin play for his home team in his homeland. And, more importantly, watching Team USA win in dramatic fashion. Never seen anything like it."

With temps in the low 70s, everybody's soaking in the sun at Olympic Park, AKA Sochi Beach.

Jim says, "Yeah, hockey fans dress crazy here, too."
49/68
In advance of the USA vs. Russia hockey game, Jim says: "A march for Ovi: The Russians' home team spirit is alive and well. They are pumped here, and NOISY if you're rooting for the other team."
50/68
Jim says, "Pancakes with caviar? Not a fan! The pancakes have more of a crepe texture here, and the lines were wrapped around Olympic Park at this pancake house, which does everything sweet and savory. For my second dining attempt, I tried a pancake with chicken and mushroom... delicious!"
51/68
Jim tells us, "Good luck reading the recycling rules in Russian. Also, they call it 'waste segregation' here."
52/68
Jim says: "These may be the Winter Games, but everyone is eating outdoors in 70-degree weather here. Some are in shirtsleeves; some are in sandals.... But our hostess was wearing a black mink coat."
