Joey Chestnut Wins Seventh Consecutive Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, Breaks World Record

On Independence Day, there's nothing that symbolizes the United States of America quite like hot dogs and gluttony.

That being said, Nathan's held its 98th annual Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island, and six-time defending champion Joey Chestnut held onto his title once again, eating a world-record 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes and breaking the contest's all-time wins record with his seventh victory.

Meanwhile, Alexandria's Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas defended the women's title by eating 36.75 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
