Hoyas' Long Wait for Late Game

Quick blog post from Chicago as I watch Florida State polish off Texas A&M -- yet another failed pick in my NCAA Tournament bracket. Georgetown is the late game here tonight, so it gives the players plenty of time to build up the anxiety. All they have been doing all day is watching basketball, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get off to a slow start. Especially point guard Chris Wright, who hasn't played in a game in almost a month.

Beating VCU could be all about the 3. If the Hoyas hit treys and limit the Rams 3-pointers it will be an easy win. If not then it could mean trouble.

VCU has already played and won a game in the tournament this year, so they are warm. That win matches the career NCAA Tournament wins for Hoyas Wright and Austin Freeman. They have played in three tourney games in three years but have only won one.  Leaving their own legacy on the hill is important to both of them, especially Wright.

There will be no legacy if they lose tonight.
