Drew Rosenhaus might best be known for barking "Next Question!", but one Skins blogger didn't even get that much courtesy.
Rosey represents receiver Devin Thomas. Thomas, last year's second-round pick (well, one of 'em), had a pretty disappointing, ineffectual season. So the team was hoping he'd be an active participant in all the off-season workouts.
Thomas didn't show. But it wasn't (at least it seems) out of laziness. He was helping his Michigan State friends prepare for their pro workouts prior to the draft. Now that he's done with that, he's back, and participating.
Before that news came out, though, Kevin, who writes for Hogs Haven, decided to reach out to Rosenhaus to see if he could get some answers.
Kevin wanted Rosey's help in getting Devin to answer a few non-confrontational questions.
It didn't go well.
Kevin summarizes the exchange:
Drew: Hello!
Me: Drew!
Drew: Yea!
Me: Hello, my name is Kevin and I'm a journalist in Washington DC for SB Nation, specifically covering the Redskins. I know Devin Thomas has worked extremely hard this off-season and I was hoping to get a brief Q & A with him either by phone or email, which I'd be happy to forward to your assistants. A lot of fans are skeptical on Devin after his training camp rookie year, but I want to help win the fans back over with this article. (long pause) ... hello? At this point I look down at my phone, and it is on the main menu, which means not only did the call end, it ended a LONG time ago. If i had to guess, he hung up on me when I said "my name."
Aren't those people skills charming? Not even the courtesy of a "NO QUESTION!"?
Drew's already got his money. What's he care at this point?
Chris Needham used to write Capitol Punishment. He usually lets things go to voicemail.
