While Vancouver suffered what could be a devastating injury to starting goalie Roberto Luongo, the Canucks did manage to walk out of Pittsburgh with a 3-1 win, so, they at least have that going for them. Still, the sight of Luongo being helped off the ice probably steals some of the thunder from what was a solid defensive performance and road victory.
Things were quite heated just 25 second into the game (see the video shown above) when Penguins forward -- and former Canuck -- Matt Cooke sent Alexander Edler flying through the air, igniting a line-brawl at center ice. When the chaos was finally sorted out, there were 50 minutes in penalties handed out, including two game misconducts -- one to Cooke, and another to Vancouver's Jannik Hansen.
Pavol Demitra scored a pair of goals for the Canucks, including the game's first goal at the 18-minute mark of the first period. He sealed the game with an empty-netter late in the third period. The line of Demitra and the Sedin's (Henrik and Daniel) accounted for all of Vancouver's scoring on the day, as Daniel registered a goal and two assists, while Henrik assisted on all three Canucks goals.
Mike Zigomanis scored the only goal for the Penguins, who were held to just 19 shots on goal for the game.
Still no official word on the severity of Luongo's injury.
Flyers Come From Behind Twice, Beat Phoenix In Overtime

After overcoming a pair of third period deficits, Mike Richards scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Flyers a 4-3 victory over the visiting Phoenix Coyotes.
Trailing 2-1 entering the third period, Mike Knuble deflected a shot behind Phoenix goalie Mikael Tellqvist, tying the game at two. Following a Todd Fedoruk goal to reclaim the lead for the Coyotes at the 15-minute mark, Jeff Carter tied the score once again with just under two minutes to play in regulation, sending the game to overtime.
Richards and Carter each finished the game with a goal and an assist, while combing for 11 of the Flyers 34 shots.
The San Jose Juggernaut Continues To DominateThings are starting to get a tad ridiculous in San Jose, as the Sharks continue to cruise along like a well-oiled machine, dominating every team they play. They improved to an incredible 17-3-1 on Saturday, pounding Washington, 7-2, at the Shark Tank.
San Jose has won four in a row, and outscored its opponents 23-9 during its most recent winning streak. The scariest part of it all? The Sharks have been doing it without their No. 1 goalie, Evgeni Nabokov. Backup Brian Boucher received yet another start in goal on Saturday, and improved his record to 7-1-1 on the season as he turned aside 19 of the 21 shots Washington fired his way.
The Capitals were once again with Alexander Semin, who was joined in the press box by defenseman Mike Green. That's quite a bit of firepower out of the Washington lineup, and it was never able to match up to the explosiveness of the Sharks.
San Jose received a pair of goals from Ryane Clowe, while Devin Setoguchi, Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Mike Grier also scored. Rob Blake picked up four assists in the win, while Dan Boyle added three helpers for the Sharks.
