Regardless, Stoke City midfielder Liam Lawrence falls under the embarrassing injury list today when he said to hurt his ankle by stepping over his dog on a set of stairs. It's definitely one of those things that are good for a laugh, like when that baseball player a couple years ago cut his hand trying to open a DVD shrink wrap.
This is only the second-most embarrassing incident in Lawrence's career. Two years ago he was in the middle of a mild sex tape case where he and teammates filmed a sexual exchange and provided play-by-play commentary.
At the very least, it's fortunate that the two black marks on Lawrence's permanent record weren't the other way around.
