Episcopal's Coale a Key Cog in Virginia Tech's Offensive Machine

Episcopal alumnus Danny Coale (class of '07) will be a key cog in the Virginia Tech offensive machine as the Hokies tangle with SEC power Tennessee in the Dec. 31 "Chick-fil-A" Bowl in Atlanta.

The 6'0,  205-pound Coale has had a number of big games at wide receiver this season for the Orange and Maroon.

The redshirt sophomore has nearly 30 catches on the season, and his late game grab versus Nebraska propelled the Hokies to that particular win back in the month of September.

In December, versus arch-rival Virginia, Coale hauled in six catches for nearly 100 yards as the Hokies defeated the Wahoos in what turned out to be Al Groh's final game on the sidelines for Virginia.

At Episcopal, Coale was coached by longtime Maroon head coach Mark Gowin.

The 9-3 Hokies will attempt to win their 10th game of the season versus the 7-5 Volunteers.
