Cole Hamels vs. Bryce Harper II: Much Ado About Nothing

The subplot of Wednesdays's series finale between the Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies might have been more anticipated than the game itself.

For the first time since their infamous introduction to each other, Cole Hamels and Bryce Harper went face-to-face.

In his first at-bat, Harper walked up to the plate, receving a hearty round of boos from the Phillie Phaithful (though no batteries were thrown). The at-bat lasted three pitches; Harper sent Hamels' last pitch deep to left field, but Juan Pierre was there to snag it for the out.

Harper ultimately went 1-for-3 in the Nats' 4-1 loss, but it seems like things have calmed down between him and Hamels.

For now.
