In his first Home Run Derby, Bryce Harper left a lasting impression, belting 24 home runs to finish second to the Athletics' Yoenis Cespedes during the annual All-Star spectacle Monday.
With his father Ron pitching to him, the Nationals' phenom hit eight home runs in each of the three rounds he participated in, including a 471-foot blast to right-center field during the first round.
Unfortunately, Harper's output was not enough to beat Cespedes, who hit 17 of his 32 home runs in the first round, tied for the third-most in a single round in Derby history. His 32 total were also tied for third-most in history.
