World Cup Fans Bring Down ESPN Streaming Service During U.S.-Germany Game

ESPN Go was a no-go Thursday during the U.S.-Germany game as millions of viewers bogged down the sports network's streaming service.

The company issued a statement saying there was more than 1.4 million concurrent viewers during the first half of the game, which is a record for WatchESPN. That number later went up to 1.5 million, recode.net reported. The cable giant said it was "investigating some limited issues due to unprecedented demand."

The service is only available to customers who pay cable providers who have a deal with ESPN.
