Vote for Zimm!

Ryan Zimmerman finalist for All-Star vote

Ryan Zimmerman needs you!

The Nationals third baseman is already seen by his team and around the league as a class act and young rising star. But he needs your help to get the recognition he deserves.

After being passed over by National League coaches for an initial spot on the roster in favor of closer Matt Capps, Zimmerman gets a second chance -- he's on the final ballot for the 2010 All-Star Game Fan Vote.

Zimmerman, who played in his first All-Star Game last year, is looking to make a return to the mid-summer classic, but he needs the help of fans. He’s one of five choices for the last spot on the roster for the National League. The other choices are Heath Bell of San Diego, Carlos Gonzales of Colorado, Joey Votto of Cincinnati and Billy Wagner of Atlanta.

Now two of the finalists, Wagner and Bell, are pitchers -- and there are already too many of them in the All-Star Game. (Even though a case could be made for Bell, who leads the NL in saves -- one more than Capps.)  So why not vote in one of the undisputed leaders of your hometown team?

Here’s what you need to do:

1.) Go to Zimmerman’s homepage for the Final Vote.
2.) Click Vote Now!
3.) Repeat steps 1 and 2 three million times.

And that’s it! Really! With a couple simple clicks you can help send Zimm to the All-Star Game.
