Skins Want “Dim Wit” Fans to Stop Booing

Apparently players don't like being booed off the field

Attention "Dim Wits": Stop booing!

That's the message a whole bunch of Skins players are sending to those Skins fans who booed the team off the field in yesterday's excruciatingly terrible 9-7 win over the Rams.

Chris Cooley, who led the team for the second straight week with seven catches, seemed really cheesed, according to the Bog.

"I thought it was a shame, to be honest with you. You take a win when you can get it. And there's a lot of good players, and there's a lot of good teams in this league. I think Washington prides themselves on being the best fans, and I think that they should try to be the best fans."

Got that?  If you're a "real" fan, you won't boo. "Real" fans understand that a win is a win, even if it's a terribly played, excruciating, miserable, disgusting performance over a dog team they should've by all rights blown out.

If you weren't happy to see Clinton Portis run straight into the line 15 consecutive times while in the red zone, or if you weren't happy to see (or not see) Santana Moss not make plays, or if you weren't happy to see Jim Zorn standing around the sideline looking helpless as his team sputtered... well, apparently you're not a real fan.

Linebacker Robert Henson -- who made as many great plays yesterday as you did on your couch -- was especially cheesed off.  So cheesed off, in fact, he took to Twitter.

Consider this sic'd: "All you fake half hearted Skins fan can .. I won't go there but I dislike you very strongly, don't come to Fed Ex to boo dim wits!!"

Bad. But it gets worse.

"The question is who are you to say you know what's best for the team and you work 9 to 5 at Mcdonalds"

At least the person working at McDonald's from 9-5 actually produces at their job.

Henson later apologized for the rants, claiming that he was having things thrown at him. (Perhaps by a one-armed man?)  He apologized again Monday afternoon at Redskins Park.

So are they right? Should real fans not boo? The Skins didn't lay down and give up yesterday. The effort was, in general, there; they just didn't execute.

The boos probably were aimed as much at the coaching staff and Danny Boy as anything. Their efforts might be there, but Danny and Krew have certainly risen to the level of their own incompetence.
