Seven Turnovers Sink Redskins vs. Falcons

New Washington Redskins starting quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 381 yards and 2 touchdowns, including one with 22 seconds to go in the game.

But a missed 2-point conversion in the closing seconds of the game handed victory to the Atlanta Falcons, 27-26.

Seven turnovers, two interceptions and a fumble by Cousins, and fumbles by Alfred Morris and Santana Moss, weren’t helpful for a team looking for their fourth win of the season. The five lost fumbles tied a team record.

Pierre Garcon finished with 7 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown while Morris carried for 98 yards.

The defense limited Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan to only 210 yards and kept running back Stephen Jackson to 38 yards. Jackson did make it to the end zone twice.

The Redskins are now 3-11 and head home next week to face the Dallas Cowboys.
