Redskins to Choose Clausen?

At least we know one thing, the Washington Redskins will not trade out of the first round.

The Redskins announced the team's first-round pick will join new head coach Mike Shanahan at the annual draft day party at FedEx Field. This year, the first round of the draft is on a Thursday.

Who the Redskins take with the No. 4 pick won't be known for another month, but in the latest mock draft on NFL.com, Pat Kirwan has the Skins choosing Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen. He's not alone.

Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. also has Clausen wearing the burgundy and gold. Kiper is real high on Clausen, who played in a pro-style offense at Notre Dame under coach Charlie Weiss.

For those fans hoping the Skins go after Sam Bradford, it appears the St. Louis Rams are leaning towards taking him with the first pick overall.

The drama over who the Redskins will and should take will last another month. Most die hard fans want new general manager Bruce Allen and Shanahan to build up the offensive lineman. That's the position Kirwan originally had the Skins targeting, but things have changed.

Don't get too invested in these mock drafts, the only thing for certain is that things will continue to change.
