Redskins' Defensive Tackle Gets DUI

A Washington Redskins defensive lineman who got promoted from the practice squad to play in Sunday's win over Jacksonville found himself behind bars early Monday, Redskins Insider reported.

Joe Joseph, the first year defensive tackle, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  He was booked at about 3 a.m in the Loudon County Sheriff's office, spokesperson Vincent DiBenedetto said.

Joseph was elevated to the active roster this past Sunday to fill holes in the depleted defensive line.  He played college football in Miami; this is Joseph's first year as a pro.  Prior to the Redskins, Joseph played preseason for the Titans, and spent time on the Giants practice squad.

Sunday's 20 - 17 win over the Jaguars was Joseph's first NFL game.

Head coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that he would talk to Joseph before making a statement about the arrest.
