Redskins Fans Cope With Tough OT Loss

Redskins fans weigh in after tough loss to Texans

"We had them and we let them off the hook,” said disappointed Redskins fan Matthew Jacobs. “We had the game won.”

Redskins fans had a rough start to the work week after suffering a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Texans. A last second Houston timeout called the potential game winning field goal back. The next one was wide right, leaving the door open for the Texans to steal a win.

“I think it’s bogus,” said Redskins fan Kristin Gardner. “They need to get rid of that rule.”

Gardner said her father is taking the loss especially hard. He goes by the name Hollywood Hillbilly and he is one of the Hogettes.

“He is licking his wounds,” said Gardner. “He’s hungover from the after game drinking. So how is he taking it? He’s probably depressed right now.”

But Kevin Ewoldt, who writes for Hogshaven.com, said most fans who are weighing in today on his blog are keeping things in perspective.

“It’s actually been pretty positive,” said Ewoldt. “We’ve played two very tough teams very early on and we won the first game.”

After two games, some fans are starting to believe again in the team they fell in love with years ago.

“Scoring 27 points though was a high point,” said Redskins fan Richard O’Gara. “It shows Shanahan can put some points on the board and McNabb was excellent, I thought.”

“Yesterday was like the old RFK days,” said longtime Redskins season ticket holder Steve Reynolds. “It was deafening. I had to hold my ears it was so loud. It was great.”
