Rain Delay Tarp Troubles

The Nationals-Phillies game is now in a rain delay due to storms.  And the rain came in so fast, stadium staff couldn't get the tarp on the field for coverage.

Employees took their marks, ran as fast as they could to get that tarp in place, but rain made it so heavy, the folks could only cover half of the field. We could only imagine how tough it actually is to get that thing rolled out.

Most fans ran for cover from the storm as employees pulled back the tarp to give it a second try.

But, some fans took on the tarp challenge and helped the grounds crew in the second attempt.  With the tarp at their heels, this try was a success.

Of course, the field is completely soaked at this point.

The Phillies are currently leading 7-5 at the top of the 6th inning.  The Phillies have the bases loaded with no outs.

Will it get rained out?  We'll keep you posted.
