Owens Follows Irvin, Gets Reality Show

Pop, Pop-Pop Pop

I can hear the popcorn popping now.

Hot off the heels of last summer's "Hard Knocks," Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens is reportedly following in the footsteps of another legendary Cowboy, Michael Irvin, by signing on to do his own reality show.

According to our own Newy Scruggs, this is further proof that the Cowboys are now more about glamour than substance and that Jerry Jones needs to dump Owens as qucikly as possible.

The series, which has not yet been titled, will chronicle Owens' off-the-field life as well as his interactions with his publicists and good friends Monique Jackson and Kita Williams.

"We are thrilled to bring such a great athlete, who is one of the biggest names and personalities in all the world of sports to VH1 for a surprising high octane look inside his superstar life off the field," said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming & Production with VH1.

Officials with the show hope that viewers will see that beyond the drama, braggadocio and harsh light of the media is a mild-mannered and quiet soul from Alexander City, Ala.

The series is executive produced by Evan Prager and Jesse Ignjatovic for Den of Thieves. Executive producers for VH1 are Jill Holmes, Alex Demyanenko, Noah Pollack and Jeff Olde.

Owens' show is set to run this summer on VH1.
