More Names Added to Classic Alumni Rosters

More names have been added to the Winter Classic Alumni Game rosters, including former Caps netminder Don Beaupre.

The biggest name, however, is still Mario Lemieux, who has decided to lace up the skates for the game on Dec. 31 at Heinz Field and entertain the hometown crowd.

The Caps roster as of now:

Peter Bondra, Michal Pivonka, Scott Walker, Sylvain Cote, Greg Adams, Beaupre, Alan Hanglesben, Nick Kypreos, Yvon Labre, Gord Lane, Craig Laughlin, Mark Lofthouse, Denis Maruk, Alan May, Paul Mulvey, Robert Picard, Errol Rausse, Pat Ribble, Ken Sabourin and Blair Stewart.

Yes, that's Scott Walker on the list, who played a total of nine regular season games with the Caps -- all last season. After coming to the team near the trade deadline last season, he wasn't offered a new contract in the offseason and didn't latch on with a new team.

The Caps' alumni will be going up against some Hall of Fame names on the Pens' roster, including Lemieux, Paul Coffey, Ron Francis, Bryan Trottier and Larry Murphy.

The rest of the Pens' lineup:

Gary Roberts, Billy Guerin, Phil Bourque, Rob Brown, Rod Buskas, Jay Caufield, Bob Errey, Dave Hannan, Francois Leroux, Troy Loney, Greg Malone, Gilles Meloche, Craig Simpson, Frank Pietrangelo, Gary Rissling, Rick Tocchet, Kevin Stevens, Peter Taglianetti and Warren Young.

Other names may be added in the coming days.

The game will be played at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Penguins' team practice at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $25 and get you into both events. The Caps' practice, however, is closed to the public.
