Leprechaun Rumors Butler, Jamison to Boston

Ainge denies trade talks

When there are no games for the Wizards to lose, they could lose two of their Big 3 and get practically nothing in return.

That's if you believe the latest trade rumor from YahooSports.com. Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Celtics are in talks with the Wizards for Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison. He said the Wiz would get Ray Allen, Brian Scalabrine and J.R. Giddens. The contracts of those players are expiring, which would save the Wizards tons of money next year.

The trade isn’t imminent, but talks have progressed and Celtics GM Danny Ainge has positioned his organization to make one of the boldest trade deadline moves in years.

According to the Celtics Blog on Boston.com, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge said he hasn't talked to the Wizards about a trade -- nor to the Charlotte Bobcats, which also has been rumored.

"There is no truth to either one of those," Ainge said.

Anyway, why on earth would the Wizards trade Butler and Jamison to one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and not get an impact player in return? (Allen has seen his better days.)

Let's throw it out there: If you trade Butler and Jamison and have enough cap room next year, why not go after free agents Lebron James and Dwayne Wade. However, King James apparently wants Jamison on his team this year. The Wizards want JJ Hickson in return, and apparently the Cavs are not willing to gve him up.

So what's going to happen? Only time will tell -- the trade deadline is Thursday.
