Georgetown Basketball Gets Ready

New Season starts without Hibbert, Wallace

Georgetown Basketball Coach John Thompson III has some big holes to fill as the Hoyas prepare for the upcoming season with a media day gathering today. Gone are Center Roy Hibbert, Forward Patrick Ewing Jr. and Guard Jonathan Wallace from a team that underachieved in last season's NCAA Tournament. Guard Jessie Sapp is the lone senior who saw any significant playing time in 2007 while the scoring will center around Junior Dajuan Summers and Sophomores Austin Freeman and Chris Wright.

The Hoyas have an ambitious early season schedule as well. Gone are the days of St. Leo's and Howard, replaced by NCAA tournament participants Memphis and American. The season gets underway on November 17th with a home game against Jacksonville.
