Runners at the 40th Marine Corps Marathon will trek a slightly different path through Crystal City as they complete their race in 2015.
The course has changed from miles 22 to 24 of the 26.2 mile course.
After crossing the Rochambeau Bridge over the Potomac River, runners will go down Army-Navy Drive then turn left onto 12th Street South and follow the road as it becomes Crystal Drive. From there, marathoners will U-turn onto 23rd Street South before turning right and going back up Crystal Drive.
“It’s here that the MCM course will turn into Crystal Park Tower #2, located near South 23rd Street, and continue making a short loop through streets on and off Long Bridge Drive,” according to a press release.
The course will end on its familiar route along Route 110 into the Marine Corps War Memorial in Rosslyn.
