Celling the Skins

Listen to Redskins, Wiz, O's on your phone

Say you're a diehard Skins fan.

Say you're not at the game.  Say you're not watching the game on TV.  Say you're not listening to the game on the radio.  Say you're not even following it on the Internet.

OK, so if you're not doing any of those, maybe you're not much of a diehard.  But Danny Snyder's thinking of you anyway.

Skins fans can now listen to Larry Michael regurgitate sponsorships every 14 seconds on their cell phone.

Washington Business Journal reports that Snyder's ESPN 980 radio station now streams their broadcasts via Alpine AudioNow.

Fans can call 888-988-0980 at any time to hear their favorite 980 sports programming (or whatever latest family issue Andy Pollin's talking about in lieu of sports).

So say it's 10 a.m., and Colin Cowherd's about to talk college football for the 19th straight day, and you just can't wait to hear his brilliant insights, but you're stuck at your desk.

What's a dedicated employee to do?

Well, close the door, tell your boss you're on a conference call, and listen to his charm ooze through your phone!

Or if you're just dying to hear Vinny Cerrato mumble his way through an answer while ducking a tough question/screed on his radio show, it's your lucky day!

If you're not a Skins fan, have no fear.  980 continues its long-standing coverage of D.C.'s favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles.  You'll be able to catch every single pitch with the dulcet tones of Fred Manfra.

Looks like Danny Snyder -- super marketing genius! -- has hit another home run!

Chris Needham used to write Capitol Punishment.  He wonders if Sam Huff knows what a cell phone is.
