Beck Becomes Bona Fide Redskin

New quarterback is here to stay

It looks like quarterback John Beck is here to stay. The Redskins have signed the 29-year-old QB to a three-year contract worth $3.5 million.

The deal seems to indicate that Beck has solidified his spot as the third-string quarterback for the Skins behind Donovan McNabb and Rex Grossman. He had been competing with Richard Bartel for the third spot on the roster.

The Redskins acquired Beck back in August from the Ravens, where he was last year. He started his career with the Dolphins, who drafted the California native from Brigham Young in the second round.

Beck is 9 of 18 for 103 yards this preseason.
