Women Protest New Virginia Abortion Law

Protests Continue at State Capitol in Richmond

Protests continue in Richmond, Va., over the state's new controversial abortion law.

Today a group of mothers and their children staged a sit-in protest on the steps of the state capitol building. The women are against the new law that requires women to get an ultrasound before they can get an abortion.

Gov. Bob McDonnell signed the bill into law yesterday at the same location where today's protest took place.

There were no arrests at today's protests, unlike protests held last week according to NBC12.

Virginia's new abortion law goes into effect in July.
