Prince George's Polling Place Reopens After Smoke

Largo High School closed 30 minutes Tuesday afternoon

Primary election voting resumed at Largo High School in Prince George's County after smoke briefly shut down the building, according to Maryland election board officials.

Voting was put on hold for about 30 minutes Tuesday afternoon after smoke was discovered, officials said.

It’s unclear what caused the smoke, election management director Donna Duncan said, but the building has been reopened and voters continue to cast ballots.

Duncan said she is not sure how many people have voted statewide. Polling locations will be open until 8 p.m.
