Palin a Fan of Former Redskin

Former Washington tight end gets endorsement

“A Game Plan for Washington,” and “Help Clint Move the Ball 10 yards Down the Field” dot former Washington Redskin Clint Didier’s website. But Didier isn’t trying to make a comeback to the NFL. He’s running for the U.S. Senate in Washington state.

And now he’s got some big-league support.

According to USA Today, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin announced her endorsement for Didier on her Facebook page. Her post encourages her fans to help Didier “Move the Ball 10 Yards Down the Field,” a.k.a. raise $1.6 million for his campaign.

Didier and Dino Rossi are considered the state's strongest contenders for the GOP. The Republican Party is trying to unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Patty Murray.

Washington state has a non-partisan runoff on August 17. That means the top two vote earners in the runoff will face off in the general election in November, regardless of party.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas has also endorsed Didier.
