Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama returned to battleground Virginia Wednesday.
Obama attended rallies at noon at the 12,000-seat Richmond Coliseum and at 5:30 p.m. at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg.
It was his eighth trip to the commonwealth since the primary.
Gov. Tim Kaine, a national co-chairman of Obama's campaign, was scheduled to join the candidate at both events. Also expected was former governor Mark Warner, currently running for U.S. Senate.
Republican John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, have held four Virginia events since June.
For the first time in the memory of most Virginians, their state is up for grabs and fiercely contested by both presidential candidates.
