Obama Rallies for Virginia Win

Obama pushes to secure state's electoral votes

Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama is holding a rally in Manassas on Monday evening in a final push for Virginia's 11 electoral votes.

Virginia hasn't cast its electoral votes for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1964, when Lyndon Johnson won all but six states.

Democratic strategists believe that if Obama can carry the state, it will become next to impossible for Republican Sen. John McCain to reach the 270 electoral votes he needs to win the election.

An estimated 436,000 new voters are disproportionately young people expected to favor the Obama.

After the campaign rally in Manassas, Obama will head home to Chicago late Monday night.
