Vincent Gray won the race for D.C. Mayor, but it seems the question everyone in the District is asking is, how many write-in votes did current Mayor Adrian Fenty receive
The D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics reported that write-in candidates received a total of 27,828 votes, or approximately 23 percent of the vote.
Because the write-in candidates didn't get more votes than Gray, those votes won't be tallied.
Fenty lost to Gray in the Democratic primary, and a small group urged Fenty to run as a write-in candidate.
Gray won the general election with more than 90,000 votes.
