Now that he has an opponent in September's primary, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty has opened a campaign headquarters for his 2010 bid to be reelected.
Fenty officially opened the headquarters on Georgia Avenue in Ward 4 Saturday. From 2000 to 2006 Fenty represented that area of the city on the D.C. Council.
Fenty is facing a tough reelection. A February poll of D.C. voters by Washington-based Clarus Research Group found 48 percent of respondents disapproved of the job he is doing.
D.C. Council Chairman Vincent Gray is challenging Fenty in the Democratic primary.
