Cost Concerns May Delay Md. Wind Legislation

Thomas Middleton said Maryland lawmakers are considering studying offshore wind energy for another year before approving anything.

Gov. Martin O'Malley's proposal would require state utilities to buy energy generated by wind turbines off the coast of Maryland.

O'Malley is expected to push for the bill in a news conference Wednesday, as he tries to negotiate approval before the General Assembly adjourns April 11.
