President Obama traded in his Commander in Chief title today, for the title of Coach. The president spent part of the day Saturday coaching his daughter Sasha’s basketball team.
Mr. Obama was filling in for the parent who usually coaches the team who was out sick.
The president also earned some extra “Good Dad Points” with today’s guest coaching appearance. Ironically, Sasha was not even playing in the game. She, Malia, Michelle, and some friends are out skiing in Colorado.
Playing pick-up games of basketball is one of the President’s favorite recreational activities. Last November Mr. Obama received 12 stitches after he was hit in the face by an elbow during a game with some friends and staffers.
No word on who won today’s game. The media was not allowed inside the community center in Chevy Chase where the game took place.
