Two Teenagers Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 10-Year-Old

Miami Police have arrested two teenagers they believe are responsible for the shooting death of a 10-year-old boy in Overtown nearly five months ago.

The Miami Herald reports police arrested 18-year-old Ernest Rowell, charging him with first-degree murder. A 15-year-old boy was also arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Investigators said they used shell casings to link the teens to the March murders of 10-year-old Marlon Eason and 16-year-old Richard Hallman.

Eason was killed in a drive-by shooting outside of his home as he played basketball.

Just two hours earlier, 16-year-old Richard Hallman had been shot and killed less than a mile away from Eason's home.

Police said shell casings left at both scenes showed the two victims were killed by the same weapon. No charges have been filed in Hallman's death.

No bond has been set for Rowell.
