Intelligence Official Warns Torture Report Could Provoke Violence

Senior intelligence officials briefed the White House and Congress, warning of a "heightened potential" that releasing the so-called Senate "torture report" could provoke violence overseas, a senior intelligence official told NBC News. The briefing was based on a classified intelligence assessment, one which also prompted alerts and heightened security measures from U.S. embassies and military posts around the world, NBC News reported.
