Putin Orders Import Bans on Countries That Imposed Sanctions

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday ordered bans on imports of food and agricultural products from countries that imposed sanctions on Russia over the crisis in Ukraine, Reuters reported. The move, which suspends U.S. poultry imports, is in response to new sanctions imposed last week by the European Union targeting entire sectors of the Russian economy. Russia is a major global buyer of meat, fish and poultry and the biggest buyer of European fruit and vegetables.
