The Englishman has dubbed the new band "Atoms for Peace," and also announced tour dates around the U.S. The cross-country trek kicks off at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC on April 5th and culminates with a April 18th showing at California's Coachella music festival. The notoriously grumpy musician wrote a note on the website, saying "hope you like the name. it seemed bleedin' obvious."
Band members include bassist Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, drummer Joey Waronker of R.E.M, Mauro Refosco of Forro in the Dark and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

Atoms for Peace is the track off of Yorke's solo album The Eraser, and also the name of a program launched by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1953 that focused on the peaceful use of atomic energy.
