Pakistan Warns US: “You Will Lose an Ally”

Pakistan's foreign minister warned the U.S. on Friday that it risked losing an ally if it continued to blame Islamabad for aiding terrorists. A top U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Adm. Mike Mullen told a U.S. Senate panel on Thursday that the militant Haqqani network "acts as a veritable arm of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence Agency," working together in last week's attack on the U.S. embassy in Kabul that killed seven Afghans. Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik denied the accusations. The United States' complicated relationship with Pakistan was brought into the national spotlight when U.S. Navy SEALS hunted down Osama bin Laden in Pakistan--where he had been hiding for years--without the country's permission.
