“SNL” Spoofs Perry's Loopy N.H. Speech

Blame Herman Cain for showing up with Godfather’s Pizza

Texas Gov. Rick Perry earned the “SNL” treatment Saturday in the wake of a recent speech in New Hampshire that led pundits to question whether the GOP presidential contender had been under the influence.

Clips of the speech, which went viral on YouTube, showed Perry talking up New Hampshire’s “cool” motto, Live Free Or Die, and giggling over a bottle of maple syrup. He later told the San Francisco Chronicle that, no, he hadn't taken any substances or pain medication before showing up for the event.

On Saturday, Perry’s “SNL” doppelgänger, Bill Hader, stopped by “Weekend Update” to discuss what really happened.

Long story short, blame Herman Cain for doling out Godfather’s Pizza, according to Hader’s Perry.

“It wasn’t until after I ate it that I realized that the pepperonis were Ambiens and the tomato sauce was beer,” he told Seth Myers.
